German Open 2012 in Hamburg
I am very delighted to let you know that for the fifth time, the German Taekwondo Federation is able to host the German Open 2012 in the free and hanseatic city of Hamburg. I am proud to inform you that the German Open 2012 is recognized for the third time as a WTF G1-Tournament.

Especially in such an important year with the Olympic Games in London the German Open 2012 gets a very special importance. Top athletes from all over the world can compete against each other only a few months before the highlight Olympic Games. We already expect well-known teams from around the world.

We will do the best we can to live up to the expectations of the title as a WTF G1 Tournament.

All of this would not have been possible without the support of our members and friends. It would not have been possible without our sportsmen, who are always trying to be on top, who are always trying to achieve the best results and who are always trying to satisfy their ambition. It would not have been possible without our organizing committee, which is preparing this event since months to guarantee a high level of professionality on every stage.

I also would like to take this opportunity to thank the Department for Culture, Sports and Media of the city of Hamburg for supporting the sport of Taekwondo. Without their enthusiastic help the event, in this manner, would not have been possible.

Herewith I wish all athletes to achieve their goals with luck and success. For the referees a professional handling and very interesting competitions for all spectators.

Particularly all qualified athletes I which all the best for London 2012, especially the two athletes from the German Taekwondo Federation.

Yours
Heinz Gruber
President of the German Taekwondo Federation
